Position Trainee Programme Analyst

Within this role I have acquired a great skill set and have successful completed two MCP’s. During my time at Oriel I have developed show piece applications to show to potential clients demonstrating both my VB and MSSQL Sever skills. I have also been involved in bug fixing work on a large Gas Trading system. I feel I have gained a great deal from my time at Oriel, by this my Problem solving skills and programming skills have been improved but I also consider my interpersonal and time management abilities have also been strengthened.

Position-IT support engineer

Connect learning centres were founded by the University of Liverpool to provide drop in centres for the people of Merseyside who required computer training or access to the internet. My duties ranged from assisting drop in centre customers with their questions regarding computing to arranging and implementing computer courses. My tasks included providing support to Learn Direct and ECDL students and assisting drop in centre customers with Ms Office and the internet. The nature of this work required me to be customer orientated with a flexible approach to implementation of strategies to enable customers to use computers to best effect.

Position- Business Analyst

I worked within a successful De-Regulation project. The project had a primary objective - to examining how opening the electricity market to further competition would affect Vertex’s client NORWEB. AS part of a team I develop business scenarios from which training manuals and job aids were produced. Manuals evolved with the scenarios to enable individuals and groups in operational business to respond with professionalism to the anticipated change in the market place.Consultation with departmental managers and their team leaders contributed to assessment of their training requirements and helped to produce individual and departmental training presentations. My role in the team required me to analysing and evaluating conceptual design and functional requirements, whilst taking into consideration current working practices, agreed business procedures and industry process maps. I achieve this by communicating with the design authority; operational managers, functional architects and IT support specialists to verify the validity of the training material.Communication ensured I remained within set parameters and married Business Objectives with those of the Project. Assessment of project and business objectives completed I formulated, prepared and deliver Training Modules. I also designed and delivered a Multi-Media Power Point training seminars to the Business.

I take pride in improving my computing skills and to this end I am a member of several On-line communities with the aim of improving my own skills and helping other members.
